Award Presentation: Tuesday, May 14, 2024

Hi Lions,

Just a reminder that our next meeting will be our Annual Awards Night.  This will take place on Tuesday, May 14th at 6:30pm at the VFW. This special evening will honor outstanding teachers, public servants, community volunteers and scholarship recipients who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment in their respective roles. It promises to be a meaningful and inspiring occasion to recognize the hard work and contributions of individuals who make a positive impact in our community.  If you plan on attending, please let me know by Tuesday, May 7th.  The success of this event is due to many lions who have contributed their time and expertise to identify and gather our honorees. Thank you to those who have helped to make this special night possible.
I would also like to echo Lion Andrew's email from last week to remind everyone that our raffle drawing will take place this Friday, May 10th at the VFW. We will have appetizers at 7 and the drawing will be at 8. All members and ticket buyers are welcome. If you have any outstanding tickets, please contact Lion Andrew.  Kudos to everyone one who sold tickets this year and to Lion Andrew for all of his hard work.
Lastly, a big thank you to Lion Robert Hubbird who organized another fantastic mystery trip.  This year's mystery trip brought us to Bourbon Street where we traveled back in time and danced all night to an excellent Motown band.  Before the show we also enjoyed food, a few beverages, and wonderful hospitality from Lions Leo and Maria.  A great time was had by all!
I hope to see you all at the upcoming events, please do not forget to RSVP for the awards night.  Have a great week!
Lion Ashley

Our first early bird drawing for $250 was held March 12 and we had a great turnout! Ticket #095 was the winner sold by Lion Steve Drew. The second Early Bird ($1,000) was claimed by Ticket #435, also sold by Lion Drew.

Congrats!     Kudos!     Best Wishes!

And a very warm . . .

* * Congratulations and many thanks to Chairman Robert Hubbird for an outstanding job organizing the Mystery Trip on April 27. Great food, great friends, great fun. Everyone had a rockin' good time!  And . . . the beat goes on!!!
Atta boy, Lion Robert.
* * Best wishes to Lion Dave Zahn as he deals with some serious health issues down in Florida. On a positive note, two of his grandsons are state champions in football -- Class 2-A in Florida and Class 8-A with Loyola Academy in Illinois).
Please keep Lion Dave in your thoughts and prayers.
Just Wondering:
--  How do you get off a non-stop flight?
--  How come noses run and feet smell?
--  Why is it called a TV set when there's only one?
--  Why do we put cups in the dishwasher and dishes in the cupboard?
